Waygate Example

Waygate Example

Waygates are portals that, using a Waykey , one can teleport to, provided one has the desitnation's address stored in their waykey.  Without a waykey in proximity the portals are not active, and appear as normal doors. Thus to someone who does not have a waykey, a waygate may seem like a random door in the middle of nowhere, seated on a pedastal. Typically waygates are double doored, though single door waygates are not unheard of. Additionally a select few waygates are made in natural rock formations and such, and lack a door entirely.

The origins of the waygates is a topic surrounded by much controversy, with some believing the network to be created either by the gods, or a civilization that existed in the early second era. The latter argument is most likely as the architecture used in the creation of the waygates is similar to that found in the depths of ancient ruins, although this itself may just be the influence of the gods on worshippers, before their banishment.
